Kaelyn Grace Apple
Kaelyn Grace Apple is a 27 year old aspiring scholar and second year Ph.D. student in History and African American Studies at Yale University. In addition to her work as a doctoral student, Kaelyn is also the Founder & CEO of Accepted Consulting , Co-Founder & CEO of Accepted Society, and the creator behind @TheRedHeadAcademic.
Kaelyn’s research focuses on the legal origins of matrilineal descent (otherwise referred to as partus sequitur ventrem) within the law of slavery in the 17th century English Atlantic World. Kaelyn seeks to center theoretical frameworks such as the race/reproductive bind discussed by Jennifer Morgan and Alys Weingbaum and to study the relationship between England and her colonies in the construction of race, gender, and labor in the early modern period.
As a former professional equestrian and community college alumnus, Kaelyn also aims to support students seeking to reach their full potential while charting an unconventional path to success through the formation of her three businesses.
